Available Adoptables

MARLIN

Sex: Male
Approx D.O.B: Jan 2017
Breed: Husky mix

Hello world! We’d like to introduce you to Marlin. This is truly your lucky day, because Marlin is the ‘whole package’! He checks the boxes – like a BOSS!.

Smart? CHECK! He knows sit, down, stay and shake. There’s no limit to how far you could go with training him! He absolutely loves following commands and pleasing his people. When he accomplishes a task he’s so proud of himself he doesn’t even need treats… just attention and love. He thrives on mental and physical stimulation so will need a family who is committed to continuing his education and keeping him tired.

Cuddly? CHECK! He’s a sweet, affectionate love-bug who’s happy to give you all the love he has. He’s particularly nervous around new men he meets (he will give a low growl when he’s unsure) but with a proper intro he’ll warm up and then he’s fine and wants love.

Energetic? CHECK, CHECK and CHECK!! Marlin is a Husky mix… he has energy to burn and will keep you moving – in all weather. He’ll make an amazing running partner or maybe take up skijoring with him during winter.

Marlin is an amazing boy, but isn’t perfect (who is?). He would do best in a home without another dog as introductions need to be very careful or he will react negatively. Cats and kids are fine, he likes them all. What a character! He knows his commands very well and his adopter will need to commit to following thru with them. If allowed, Marlin will run the house… and you don’t want that!

Marlin’s $375 adoption fee includes:

Spay / Neuter with tattoo
3 Distemper / Parvo vaccines
Rabies vaccine
All required vetting
Dewormer
4 weeks Trupanion pet insurance

Because we love all of the dogs in our care, we have promised them that we will always be there for them. To ensure they are always able to get to us if they need, our adoption radius is strictly within 1 hour of the city of Winnipeg.

DOUG

Sex: Male
Approx D.O.B: June 7, 2019
Breed: Shepherd mix

Doug is the perfect example of a ‘people’ dog. Doug loves people! A lot of the time, he’d prefer the company of his person to another dog. He gets along with dogs fine, but if there’s a lap he can take over… that’s where he’ll be and you can find a way to be OK with it.

Doug is working on his potty training – and is giving it the ole college try – but he’s finding it difficult to make it a priority when there is always someone whose attention he needs to get. That’s a lot of work for a puppy you know, and honestly, when you’re this cute… you can get away with a lot!

Doug isn’t kennel trained, but is left in an x-pen with his sister without incident and sleeps through the night. What else could you ask for in a puppy??!

Doug’s $375 adoption fee includes:

Spay / Neuter with tattoo
3 Distemper / Parvo vaccines
Rabies vaccine
All required vetting
Dewormer
4 weeks Trupanion pet insurance

ELLIE

Sex: Female
Approx D.O.B: Nov 2, 2018
Breed: Shepherd mix

Today’s a good day!! Wanna know why? Cuz you’re about to meet Ellie!! It’s gonna be EPIC!

Ellie is a sweetie with a big heart and big ears! LOL (don’t tell her we said that!). She wants to be your best friend and snuggle buddy. She’d also love to be your running partner or agility team mate. She has LOTS of energy that needs to be burnt off very regularly. She doesn’t want to be the boss, she wants to be given clear guidance for what you want from her, consistency in expectations and patient training – probably ongoing. Again, training and keeping her mind occupied will help make her an amazing family member.

If you’d like more information about Ellie, please reach out to us at info@centralpaws.ca. If you’d like to meet her, please fill out an adoption application. Thank you!!

Ellie’s $375 adoption fee includes:

SCOUT

Sex: Female
Approx D.O.B: June 7, 2019
Breed: Shepherd mix

Scout is a feisty little princess who can easily out-play her brother! Thankfully, she has other dogs in her foster home who are up for the challenge of a Scout wrestling match! With this amount of ‘play’ in her, Scout will definitely need a home with a playmate who is receptive to puppy behaviour and enjoys a good tussle before dinner, and after, and before bed and probably first thing in the morning…

Scout is working very hard on her potty training and almost has it mastered – as long as she isn’t distracted by playing! We expect there will probably be a small set-back when she moves to her new home, but she’ll rebound quick. She’s a smart little cookie.

Scout and her brother are not kennel trained, but are left in an x-pen together without incident and she sleeps quietly throughout the night. Isn’t that just exactly what you want to hear??!

Scout’s $375 adoption fee includes:

Spay / Neuter with tattoo
3 Distemper / Parvo vaccines
Rabies vaccine
All required vetting
Dewormer
4 weeks Trupanion pet insurance

Misty

Sex: Female
Approx D.O.B: Feb 24, 2011
Breed: Labrador mix

When Misty came to us we weren’t sure she’d survive. She had Pyometra (horrific uterus infection), heartworm, gunshot wounds and a broken leg. Luckily her will to live and love far outweighed her medical issues and she’s now thriving and looking for her furever home! Love can do amazing things! Here’s what her foster mum has to say:

“Misty has came such a long way from when she first came into rescue. She has gained weight and learned that not all meals need to be eaten immediately. She has learned that treats generally come from a noisy plastic bag, so be ready for her to flash her fabulous smile whenever you open a wrapper. She tolerates her other foster buddies but prefers to have people company only. Misty loves getting pets and belly rubs. She also loves being brushed. She likes chewing on bones but hasn’t figured out “playing”. She likes car rides and going places as they usually end with treats and lots of ear rubs. She has been to the groomer a couple times to get her nails trimmed and has been a real good girl. She likes a quiet home where she can lounge and rest. She enjoys being outside and laying in the sunshine. She thinks she can still chase rabbits but its best if she doesn’t. She walks on a leash and has never had an accident in the house. Misty has a limp and some days she is a little more achy than others, so being aware of this and respecting her space is important. Misty will do best in a quiet stable home with her very own people. In return you will get a friend for life and a true companion that loves forever.”

Misty’s $375 adoption fee includes:

Spay / Neuter with tattoo
3 Distemper / Parvo vaccines
Rabies vaccine
All required vetting

SADIE

Sex: Female
Approx D.O.B: April 15, 2019
Breed: Shepherd Mix

Well, hello good people! Sadie’s the name, chase is the game. No seriously… I love playing chase. It’s like, my favorite!

Lemme tell y’all a bit about me… you may want to sit for a minute.

First off… I’m what dreams are made of. That’s just a fact.

Second… I am gorgeous. Stunning. An absolute knock-out!

Third… I have the softest fur. There is none better for burying your face and hands in and just soaking up the love! That’s also another of my favorites!

Fourth (and maybe most important)… I’m happy. Almost giddy, almost all the time! Because I’m so happy, I’m not interested in chewing your favorite things or barking at every sound. I’ll sit for treats just to please you and when you’re watching TV or working on the computer, I’ll grace your presence just by staying near you.

Total package aren’t I?? You should definitely fill out an application for me!
